Living History Day at Sutters Fort.
27 March 2003

We dropped Lydia off at 'Old Town Sac'... ...from there she rode a horse drawn wagon to Sutters Fort. Waiting for the horse drawn wagons. The wagons arriving at Sutters Fort. Lydia played the part pf 'Mary Smith.' Pictures of the participants. We played Mr and Mrs Anderson... ...their two youngest children. About to start the oven fire. The oven floor is about 4' by 5'... ... it needs to be covered with red hot coals. A tough job, but someone has to do it. The bread is ready for the last rise. The bread going in the oven. We baked 24 loafs of whole wheat bread. The hot bread coming out of the oven, We also made cinnamon rolls and ginger snap cookies. Emily and her friend. Jacob enjoyed the day... ...so did Zack. They found the animal pen. Here's a chicken. Here are a few of my helpers. Susie was in charge of the bakery. The bakery table. Abbey was one of her helpers. We churned over two gallons of cream into butter. It takes a lot of churning. Abbey and Susie dancing the Virginia Reel. Quilting. The Malitia.
